Job Description: Fitness Trainer

 

 

Job Summary
We pride ourselves on creating a safe and comfortable environment in which our clients can work out and
achieve their fitness goals. Join our small family/team as a fitness trainer and create personalized fitness
programs that work with clients’ current physical abilities while helping them achieve their goals. As an
energetic and personable individual, you will MOTOvate your clients while instructing them on the proper use of
exercise machines and providing tips on proper body movements so that they get the most out of their
workouts and minimize their risk of injury. You will have the autonomy to create your own programs for YOUR
clients. Take control of your future as a trainer, the sky's the limit with our projected growth. You will be an
important part of a team that works together to provide the best exercise experience.

 

This is a part time position with the option to become full time. Pay is based on experience with a pay range of
$15.00/hr to $35.00/hr.

 

Job Responsibilities
● Provide individual assistance in exercises and create workout plans that help clients achieve their personal
fitness goals and increase their health and well-being.
● Lead classes in various exercises such as functional and weight training and others, and ensure participants
use proper movement to avoid injury.
● Train clients in the proper use of equipment, and correct posture during exercise for maximum benefit and
to reduce the risk of injury.
● Conduct fitness assessments to determine clients’ current fitness levels, goals, and preferences.
● Provide motivation, encouragement, and accountability to help clients stay on track.
● Demonstrate proper exercise techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
● Encourage clients to maintain their fitness plans and reach their fitness goals, monitoring and adapting the
program when needed.
● Monitor and track clients’ progress, adjusting plans as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
● Educate clients about other lifestyle changes they can make to maximize their fitness, including quitting
smoking and eating a healthy diet.
● Enforce all gym policies and safety rules to reduce the chance of any accidents and to maintain a safe and
comfortable environment in which clients can exercise.
● Ensure that club facilities and equipment are always kept clean, attractive, and in compliance with company
standards and local regulations.
● Administer first aid as needed, including wrapping injuries or sterilizing minor wounds, and refer clients to
physicians when necessary.

Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:

● High school diploma, college degree preferred
● Nationally certified training certification, or willing to obtain.
● Current CPR/First Aid certification or willing to obtain upon hire.
Preferred:
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Experience in sales
